ASG Produmax Proudly Supports Bradford Manufacturing Weeks

ASG Produmax is once again proud to support Bradford Manufacturing Weeks, the flagship initiative that connects manufacturers with schools and young people to inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators.

Now in its seventh year, Bradford Manufacturing Weeks has already introduced more than 16,000 students to the world of manufacturing, offering hands-on experiences through factory tours, work placements, seminars, exhibitions and workshops across the district.

For ASG Produmax, a Bradford-based precision engineering specialist and part of the ASG Aerospace Group, the initiative represents both a responsibility and a privilege: to open doors for young people and to help shape the future of the region’s thriving manufacturing sector.

“Bradford Manufacturing Weeks is about showing young people the excitement, variety and opportunities that a career in manufacturing can offer,” said Paul Birtles, Operations Director at ASG Produmax. “As a company, we’re passionate about developing skills and creating pathways into our industry. Supporting this programme is a natural extension of that commitment.”

Birtles added: “It’s always inspiring to welcome students into our business, answer their questions and see their curiosity come alive. Some of those young people could well be the engineers, designers or leaders of tomorrow — and that’s what makes this so rewarding.”

The not-for-profit programme is administered by the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and SkillsHouse at Bradford Council, with support from local employers and education providers. Confirmed sponsors for the 2025 initiative include NatWest, Azets, Schofield Sweeney, University of Bradford, Solenis, Make UK, Keighley College, Bradford College — and of course, ASG Produmax.

James Mason, CEO at West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce commented, “Business Involvement secures a strong relationship between the manufacturing industry and the future workforce coming through the education system. By offering their support, businesses can help to guide students into a specific line of work, educating them on the career path options available and the skills required to do certain jobs within the industry. Who better to provide information and create discussions with the next generation. Bradford Manufacturing Weeks is a wonderful opportunity  to showcase the outstanding manufacturing companies we have in the region!”

For ASG Produmax, the support goes beyond sponsorship. The company, which is recognised globally for its aerospace precision engineering, runs apprenticeships and training schemes that have launched many careers locally.

“Our industry thrives when we invest in people, and Bradford Manufacturing Weeks is a great way to do just that,” Birtles said. “We are proud to play our part, alongside so many other brilliant manufacturers, in showing young people that this sector is progressive, innovative and full of opportunities.”

Bradford Manufacturing Weeks 2025 officially launched in September, with a programme of events running through October.
