Engineering Sustainable Aviation
As global leaders convene for COP30 this week, ASG Aerospace is advancing its sustainability journey as part of its commitment to decarbonising the sector.
“ASG Group is reducing the carbon footprint of its operations and contributing to a more sustainable aerospace sector,” says Group Managing Director Simon Weston. “We’re implementing renewable energy, improving chemical processes, and developing cleaner production methods to ensure long-term efficiency without compromising quality or reliability.”
That commitment is already visible across the Group’s subsidiaries. Three recent initiatives demonstrate how ASG is embedding sustainability deep into its operations—without compromising on performance or competitiveness.
For ASG Produmax in Baildon, community collaboration has been key. Working with Bradford manufacturers as part of the 'Bradford Manufacturing Futures project', the company is helping to develop best practices and strategic roadmaps for sustainable manufacturing. Managing Director Jeremy Ridyard notes that this partnership “aligns seamlessly with ASG Aerospace's overarching commitment to decarbonisation and sustainability,” emphasising that shared innovation can “catalyse positive change across the wider region.”
In Bromborough, ASG AMF Engineering has taken a decisive leap forward with renewable energy. The installation of nearly 700 solar panels, forming a 220kW system and 280Ah battery storage facility reflects both environmental and business sense. By harnessing renewable energy, ASG Aerospace is reducing its carbon impact while strengthening competitiveness, seeing sustainability and efficiency as inseparable.
Meanwhile, in Liverpool, ASG King & Fowler, a company with roots dating back to 1887, has invested £1.75 million in a new REACH compliant Tartaric Sulphuric Anodising (TSA) line—an innovation designed to eliminate the use of hexavalent chrome. The group pivotal investment reinforces environmental responsibility while enhancing surface treatment productivity and efficiency.”
As COP30 focuses the world’s attention on climate action, ASG Aerospace is combining high-precision engineering with forward thinking environmental strategy and recognises that decarbonising the sector will need innovation, collaboration, and commitment.
