ASG Aerospace apprentices inspire young people at STEMFest Yorkshire and Humber 2026

ASG Aerospace apprentices took part in STEMFest Yorkshire and Humber on 1st and 2nd July at Events North, Leeds. Around 2,000 students aged 10 to 13 attended over two days, alongside more than 50 exhibitors from across the region.

This was the third consecutive year ASG Aerospace has supported the event, which moved to Leeds for 2026 after two years in Bradford. Organised by RTC North, STEMFest gives young people across Yorkshire and the Humber hands-on experience of science, technology, engineering and maths, covering everything from manufacturing and engineering to energy and space.

Led by Jasmine Hibbert, who leads the apprenticeship programme at ASG Produmax, our apprentices ran hands-on aerospace activities designed to show students what precision engineering involves and where a career in the sector can lead. For many students, it was their first chance to meet engineers only a few years older than themselves and see the connection between classroom subjects and real careers.

Jasmine said: “At this age it’s all about sparking curiosity. If a hands-on activity gets a student excited about science, technology, engineering and maths, they’re far more likely to choose those subjects at school. That’s where every engineering career starts.”

Developing the next generation of engineering talent is central to how ASG Aerospace works. The UK aerospace supply chain needs a steady pipeline of skilled people, and that starts with young people seeing the industry up close.
