ASG Aerospace has been recognised by Airbus with a “Going the Extra Mile” award, underlining the group’s role in supporting performance and resilience across the global aerostructures supply chain.

The award was presented at the third Airbus Aerostructures Supplier Day, held in Hamburg, where senior leaders from across Airbus and its top 70 suppliers gathered to review progress, performance and future strategy within the company’s evolving aerostructures business.

Nils Witt, Chief Procurement Officer and Head of Procurement at Airbus, described the event as an opportunity to assess the “supply-chain pulse” across key metrics including quality, ramp-up readiness, competitiveness and long-term partnership development.

“Earlier this week… we brought together key decision makers from our top suppliers to explain the steps our young company has already completed in its transformation journey,” he said. “It was also a very special occasion to specifically thank those partners that went the extra mile for us during the last year.”

The recognition places ASG Aerospace’s Bremerhaven site among a select group of suppliers acknowledged for exceptional contribution during a period of sustained production ramp-up and increasing operational complexity across global aerospace programmes.

For mid-sized manufacturing groups operating within tiered supply chains, such awards carry significance beyond the event itself. They signal not only delivery performance, but also the ability to collaborate closely with OEMs as they navigate capacity constraints, material challenges and evolving programme demands.

Simon Weston, CEO of ASG Aerospace, said “This award reflects the hard work of the ASG Bremerhaven team and all those across ASG aerospace that have supported this work over the past 12 months.”

“This is a strong reflection of the collaborative spirit behind the Airbus Aerostructures transformation journey,” he said. “We’re proud to have received the ‘Going the Extra Mile’ award—an achievement that reflects the dedication and resilience of ASG Bremerhaven and the entire team.”

“It’s a testament to what can be accomplished through close partnership, transparency, and a shared commitment to performance.”

The Airbus Aerostructures Supplier Day focused heavily on alignment across the supply chain, with sessions covering demand management, material qualification and the strategic direction of supplier relationships—areas that are increasingly critical as production rates rise across both commercial and defence platforms.

Weston added that such forums are becoming essential as the sector continues to scale.

“Events like this underline the importance of alignment across the supply chain, especially as we continue to navigate ramp-up and increasing demands together,” he said. “We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing the journey as a trusted partner.”

For ASG Aerospace, the recognition reinforces its positioning as a vertically integrated, mid-sized supplier capable of supporting OEM requirements across machining, assemblies and surface treatments—while maintaining the responsiveness and agility increasingly valued within the modern aerospace supply chain.
