ASG Aerospace sets sights on Farnborough as countdown begins
With less than 80 days to go until Farnborough International Airshow, preparations are gathering pace across the global aerospace supply chain—none more so than at ASG Aerospace, which will use the event to formally showcase its newly launched capabilities on an international stage.
Exhibiting on the Midlands Aerospace Alliance stand, ASG Aerospace will join a cohort of UK manufacturers aiming to demonstrate the depth, resilience and technical strength of the regional supply chain at a time of sustained demand and ongoing production ramp-ups.
The Farnborough International Airshow remains one of the sector’s most important global meeting points, bringing together OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and government stakeholders. It offers a critical, trusted platform to position capability, build relationships and align with future programme requirements.
ASG Aerospace enters this year’s event following its recent formation as a unified division within ASG Group. The business brings together seven advanced manufacturing and surface treatment sites across the UK and Germany, creating what it describes as a rare mid-sized, vertically integrated supply chain partner.
Simon Weston, CEO of ASG Aerospace, said the show represents an important milestone for the business.
“Farnborough is one of the few forums where the entire global aerospace supply chain comes together. For us, it’s the right platform to introduce ASG Aerospace properly and demonstrate the scale and integration we’ve built over the past 12 months.”
Its combined offering spans long-bed machining, complex assemblies, critical surface treatments and fast-response manufacturing services—capabilities increasingly in demand as OEMs seek fewer, more capable suppliers able to deliver at scale while maintaining flexibility.
Weston added that the group’s positioning reflects changing expectations from customers.
“We’re seeing a clear shift from OEMs and Tier 1s towards fewer, more capable partners. Businesses that can offer multiple processes, invest in capacity and still respond quickly are becoming increasingly valuable. That’s exactly where ASG Aerospace is positioned.”
The timing is significant. As aerospace programmes continue to ramp up, supply chain resilience has become a central theme across the industry, with manufacturers under pressure to balance rate increases, quality expectations and cost competitiveness.
Against this backdrop, ASG Aerospace’s positioning reflects a broader shift within the sector: the emergence of mid-tier groups capable of bridging the gap between smaller specialists and large-scale primes.
Farnborough will serve as the first major platform for ASG Aerospace to present this integrated model to a global audience. The ASG Aerospace team will be present throughout the show, engaging with existing partners and exploring new opportunities across both civil and defence programmes. For the business, it is a deliberate statement of intent.
Weston said the ambition extends beyond visibility.
“ASG Aerospace is going to be showing that the UK supply chain has the depth, capability and resilience to support the next phase of aerospace growth—and that we are ready to play a meaningful role.”
