ASG Arrowsmith Secures 10th Consecutive SC21 Silver Award

ASG Arrowsmith Engineering, a leading name in UK aerospace precision engineering, has officially been awarded the prestigious SC21 Silver Award by ADS, the UK defence trade association, for the tenth year running — a milestone achievement that underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and sustained high performance.

Founded in 1967 and focused on producing aero engine components since 1970, Arrowsmith Engineering has become synonymous with quality, precision, and reliability. The SC21 (Supply Chains for the 21st Century) programme is an industry-recognised benchmark of excellence in aerospace and defence, and Arrowsmith’s consistent recognition at the Silver level places it among a rarefied group of UK engineering firms that have met the stringent performance, delivery, and business excellence criteria over such an extended period.

“Securing the SC21 Silver Award for a tenth consecutive year is a monumental achievement for our entire team,” said Jason Aldridge, Managing Director of ASG Arrowsmith. “It speaks volumes about our people, our processes, and our purpose. Our continued investment in cutting-edge CNC machining technology, innovation through robotics, and our work with UK Catapult centres reflects our deep-rooted commitment to driving performance and setting standards across the aerospace sector.”

ASG Arrowsmith’s manufacturing footprint combines advanced CNC technologies with deep expertise in machining complex mill-turned and 5-axis components, predominantly for aero engine applications. Their facilities specialise in both low-volume, high-quality bespoke parts and large-scale production runs, machining in high-performance materials including Nimonics, Titanium, S130 Stainless Steel, and Magnesium.

The SC21 programme, run by ADS, recognises and supports suppliers in the aerospace and defence sectors to improve competitiveness. With the award, Arrowsmith joins an elite echelon of firms with proven capabilities in delivery, quality, and business excellence.

“On behalf of the management office, I’d like to offer my sincere congratulations to each of the Arrowsmith team responsible for reaching and maintaining such a high standard of performance over such an extended period of time,” said Nancy Jardine, ADS and SC21 Operations Manager. “Their continued dedication and quality exemplify the spirit of the SC21 programme and set a benchmark for the entire supply chain.”

In recent years, Arrowsmith has bolstered its investment strategy with a focus on automation and smart manufacturing. Robotic machining cells were introduced in 2019 and again in 2022, and in 2023 the company expanded its fleet of CNC and metrology equipment, building on the momentum of its Queen’s Award win in 2020 and King's Award in 2024. The company’s strong industry standing is further reinforced by its ongoing collaborations with innovation hubs like the UK Catapult network.

Looking ahead, Arrowsmith shows no signs of slowing down. “We’re proud of our achievements over this last decade, it's driven us to both a Queens Award and King's Award and we’re even more excited about the future,” added Aldridge. “This award validates our trajectory and inspires us to push even harder for the next level of performance. We see this as a decade of distinction — and the beginning of another.”
